History of YTP New Jersey
Established in 2024, the Youth Tutoring Project New Jersey (YTP-New Jersey) is a student-led initiative dedicated to providing free, high-quality tutoring to students from low-income households and underserved communities in New Jersey. Our mission is to empower learners through peer-to-peer education, offering personalized support across a variety of subjects, from fundamental math and reading skills to advanced topics like computer science and precalculus. Driven by passionate volunteer tutors, YTP-New Jersey fosters a supportive, inclusive learning environment that helps students thrive academically and beyond.
Tutoring
One of the ways in which we provide exceptional value is through our custom computer science program. Since AP Computer Science A and principles is offered at most public schools in NJ we wanted to create something unique to help students excel in this subject.
Volunteering
Our volunteering is run through the hiring of tutors. As a chapter we offer management and tutoring positions for various subjects. We also offer a great opportunity to network and to develop teaching skills. YTP as a whole offers volunteer hours and a great opportunity to help your community.
